Summer Science Playgroup

We needed a little bit of help organizing our summer. Five weekdays with nothing planned in a row, seemed a little daunting as a mother of active children, so a neighbor and I got together and planned a summer science playgroup. I think it was a total success. These kids roasted marshmellows in the sun, made clouds in plastic baggies, traced shadows on the sidewalk to observe how the sun moved. They played guessing games about whether things would sink or float, talked about how water changes shapes and splashed around in a blow up pool. They learned about air and wind and raced with papers stuck to their tummies, moved reeces puffs around the table with only their breath and a straw, and created a windsock. They learned about their five senses, outer space and plants. We had such a great time. Thanks moms for lending me your kids, and thanks Jeanine for all your help!
